Create Coloring Pages

Every person that sells coloring pages has their own unique way of doing them. And they all look great, so you are free to use a variety of resources.

1. Create Your Own Art

If you are artistic, you are ahead of the rest of us. Create the pages yourself and you are free to sell them with whatever license you want.

2. Outsource.

Hire an artist to create the pages for you. You can hire by the job or bring on an artist to create packs on a regular basis. Some businesses use Onlinejobs.ph to find artists or use services like Fiverr.

3. Use software.

Repper is one option. Use black and white coloring pages, digital paper or art to create images.

4. Use Photoshop, Procreate, Affinity, or PowerPoint

There are design programs that you can use to create coloring pages from individual images. So I can take my clip art that I have created, pop in Photoshop (my favorite) and make a coloring page from it. Don’t overlook PowerPoint because it is a great resource.

By using the shapes and icons in PowerPoint, you can fill shapes with coloring pages easily. The pages shown were created doing just that.

5. Canva

Yes, you can use some of the same techniques for creating paper in other programs and use Canva. Download some digital icons, clip art, doodles and line art and upload to Canva. Create a letter size page (or other size) and then download the PdF when done.

6. Use AI

Ok, this one had me stumped but after trying Jarvis.ai, I am now a convert. Would I use this for every page I create?  No, but after creating the pages in Jarvis, I can use Repper to create more pages. Or pop them into Photoshop and make something else. The only drawback is they are small, not large images. You can still use them to create other images and they work great for social media. And updates to Jasper say they are working on making larger sizes available.

Look at some of the pages I created in about 30 seconds:

Make physical products.

One way you can make money from your coloring pages is by making physical products like mugs, shirts, bags, etc. People love colorful and personalized items, so this is a great way to use your pages.

Use those black and white pages, color them in and scan. Or color them digitally and save. Or create your product with the black and white page and let customers color them in. This works well as a party activity on a shirt or bag for kids. Note: if coloring shirts, put a cardboard inside so colors don’t bleed to the back.

There are a few ways to go about this: find a company that will print your design on their products, or set up your own online store and print the designs yourself. The latter option requires more work but also gives you more control over pricing and quality.

Sell digital products

Another avenue for selling your coloring pages is by selling digital copies. This could be in the form of PDFs that people can download and print at home, or even ready-to-print files that they can send to a local printer.

The most popular products made from coloring pages are journals and planners, but there are endless possibilities for what you can create. Get creative and let your imagination run wild! Make all of the following:

Bookmarks—either for adults or for kids

Gift Tags

Alphabets (great for kids activity packs) Do Canva Video

Frames/Borders

Stationery

Digital Paper

Themed Pages (like Pumpkins for Fall or Hearts for Valentines)

You can sell your finished pages as single pages, or bundled in a PDF.

How to  Package and Sell Your Pages

Now that you have some high-quality pages designed, it’s time to start selling them!

There are a few different ways you can do this. One option is to sell them as individual PDFs that people can download and print at home. Another option is to package them into a physical coloring book that you can sell on sites like Etsy or Amazon.

Or, if you want to reach an even wider audience, you could create an app or website where people can access your pages and color them online. Whichever route you choose, make sure you set a price that’s fair for both you and your customers.

Use your pages to drive traffic to other products

Coloring pages make a great optin or lead magnet. You can package 5 pages together (or more) and offer to potential subscribers. Create an optin form using an image and then promote the form on social media and you shop.

If you already have a list, you can give a pack of coloring pages to your subscribers. Include a link to your website or store in the file so customers who enjoy the pages know where to find more

By giving people a taste of what you have to offer, you’ll increase the chances that they’ll buy something from you down the road.

If you have other products, include a coloring page as a bonus with the product and a link to a larger package to buy.

Or, use as a bonus on affiliate products you are selling. Again, always include a link back to your store in the file so happy customers can find you again.

Making Money from Coloring Pages

It’s a stressful world and the past few years have increased the stress. Everyone is looking for ways to relax and coloring is one way people are able to calm themselves.  If you have never tried, it grab some colored pencils, markers or crayons and give it a try.

And, it doesn’t have to be “real coloring”. There are online apps and programs where you can digitally color designs. This opens even more possibilities to use your coloring pages as covers for journals and planners.
